He was featured on the Ellen Show, participated in SYTYCD The Next Generation, performed a lip sync on Lip Sync Battle Shorties, and has been a performer in commercials for H&M, Honda Odyssey, Gap Kids, and more. He was also featured on the 12th season of America's Got Talent, receiving four "yes" votes from the judges, as well as advancing to the live shows. In the quarter finals he once again impressed the judges, and was voted through to the semi finals by the American public, but was eliminated. As of August 20, 2017, the video depicting Hanna's audition has clocked up over 13 million views on YouTube and trended #1.

Hanna has also acted as part of professional summer Shakespeare runs of Much Ado About Nothing and A Winter's Tale.

Hanna lives in Encinitas, California with his parents, Shawn and Aletha Hanna, and his brother, Sagan. He was once an avid soccer player, making it as far as the A team. At age 9, however, he decided to stop playing and devote his time and energy to dancing instead. He regularly credits YouTube videos by dancers such as Poppin John for teaching him the basics, as well as the lessons he took at his local YMCA. He also played the piano but now focuses on acting and dancing.
